Priority Needs

Emergency Medicine and Trauma

Shands Jacksonville houses North Florida and South Georgia’s only Adult and Pediatric Level I Trauma Center, TraumaOne. Contributions to emergency and trauma services will support renovations and expansions for the Emergency Department, Trauma Center and the patient units. These projects will allow the facility to better care for patients in their greatest time of need.

Neuroscience Services

The Shands Jacksonville Neuroscience Institute supports patients with neurological conditions such as Epilepsy, Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis and Sleep Disorders. The Institute offers state-of-the-art diagnostic, therapeutic, and rehabilitative services. Your support will help to provide cutting edge patient equipment and establish the neuroscience intensive care unit. This 12-bed unit will be used exclusively for head and neck injuries as well as all neuroscience trauma.

Cardiovascular Services

The Cardiovascular Center provides a fully integrated and comprehensive heart program. Donations restricted to cardiovascular services will support upgrades to the Cardiac Catherization Labs, construction of the 26-bed Cardiac Critical Care Unit and the establishment of the Chest Pain Center/Clinical Decision Unit.

Cancer Services

Specialized oncology services at Shands Jacksonville include breast cancer, prostate cancer, lung cancer, kidney cancer and gynecologic cancers. Currently, these services are spread throughout the campus. With community support Shands Jacksonville will be able to consolidate inpatient and outpatient cancer services under one roof. These services will be housed near the Proton Therapy Institute. Shands Jacksonville is one of only five locations in the United States with this technology.
